Kaw Valley Natural Pet Care was founded in 2004 by Dr Cathy King. The setting at 514 East 9th Street provides a relaxed atmosphere for pets and their people alike. House calls are also available. The types of therapies offered are acupuncture, herbal medicine, homeopathy, flower essence therapy, Tui-Na, energywork, essential oil therapy, and most recently theraputic laser treatments.
Dr. King graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984 and began a career working with pet animals. In 2000, she began studying at the Chi Institute in Reddick Florida with Dr. Shen Xie, Director of Holistic Services at the University Of Florida College Of Veterinary Medicine. In 2001 she was certified in small animal acupuncture and then completed certification in Chinese herbal medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine Food therapy and Tui-Na. She has studied Bioenergy Therapy with Mietek Wirkus since 1997 and is participating in master’s certification training. She is also currently participating in a certification program for essential oil therapy for pets.
